Ayn Rand aka Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum was born in St. Petersburg, Russia on February 2, 1905. Rand was a famous Russain-American philosopher, playwright, novelist, and screenwriter. She got accepted to the University of Petrogard, where she majored in history and later studied at the State Technicum for Screen Arts. Before she came to America, she decided her surname for writing would be Rand and acquired the first name Ayn from a Finnish name.
In 1926, Rand left Russia to visit her relatives in the US. She stayed with them for a small amount of time in Chicago and began making her way towards Hollywood to pursue a career as a screenwriter. Ayn Rand wrote a few novels abd screenplays. Some of which were used by Universal Studios and Paramount Pictures. In her novels, "Fountainhead" and "Atlas Shrugged", she expressed many of her philosophical ideas. She even developed a philosophical belief known as Objectivism which says that "all knowledge is ultimately based on perception". On March 6, 1982 Ayn Rand passed away, but left behind her great lagacy. People still buy her books and economists, psychologists, historians, and political writers have acknowledged her influence on their lives.
